Ooof, hard for me to pin down exact figures because my memory is porous and because I wasn't in ad sales. This was pre-Petersen, so we were not ABC audited, but if I recall, we based our circ at around 60,000-70,000 about then. Of that, we were probably a little over a third newsstand. I seem to recall that getting more than 25,000 in newsstand was champagne cork popping good times. And if I recall, the Dark Issue rolled around 18,000 on the shelves. BUT, don't bank on that, because it is 30 year old memory of what might have been hearsay to begin with...
